This POLICE OFFICER position, is located in the ANG Security Forces Squadron, installations with a police function to include Jefferson Barracks. and is part of the CA 163 ATKW.

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, INDEFINITE POSITION

Selectee may be non-competitively converted to permanent status if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered.

The primary purpose of the POLICE OFFICER, GS-0083-7, is to perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect, and assists local, state, or federal law enforcement in investigations, arrests and/or detention, or apprehension, and perform patrols within the assigned jurisdictions. These duties must be coordinated with local law enforcement.

May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

POLICE OFFICER, GS-0083-7: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-06 level experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED
- The maximum entry age for DoD Law Enforcement is 37. An individual not appointed by the last day of the month in which the individual becomes age 37 will not be originally appointed or assigned to these positions. For exceptions to the maximum entry age, see DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 336, January 22, 2015, Incorporating Change 1, December 1, 2017, Enclosure 3, Section 3.
- Must pass formal law enforcement training school as determined by NGB/A4 and obtain DoD Peace Officer Standardization and Training Certification.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license to operate government motor vehicles (GMV) in accordance with AFI 24-301, Vehicle Operations.
- This position does not meet the definition of law enforcement officer and is excluded from coverage as LEO for purposes of the Federal Employment Retirement System-Base Annuity 1A W 5 CFR, Part 842, Subpart H
- Must obtain and maintain a government travel card. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.N/A
