Job Role: Head of Manufacturing & Operations

Overview: The Head of Manufacturing & Operations will be responsible for leading and managing the manufacturing and operations team, ensuring that all products are manufactured efficiently, effectively and to the highest standard. They will be expected to have knowledge of cosmetic manufacturing machines, experience in GMP (Good Manufacturing Process) and experience working in a lean manufacturing facility. They will also be expected to have vast computer knowledge and be able to communicate and organize effectively.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and manages the manufacturing and operations team
  • Drives the production process. Manages and delivers manufacturing and operations projects on time and to budget
  • Establishes well defined and maintains department standards for safety, productivity, reliability, and accuracy, while relentlessly driving plant efficiencies, lowering costs, and improving production time.
  • Implements, maintains, documents, and optimizes GMP (Good Manufacturing Process) and 5S. Oversees maintenance and sanitation of equipment and facility to ensure all regulatory standards are met
  • Provides manufacturing expertise to new product development pilots and launches to support sales growth, profitability, and new customer acquisition
  • Keeps up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies to ensure the team is working to the best of its ability
  • Ensures all manufacturing and operations materials comply with relevant legislation and all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements in the cosmetics industry
  • Develops, reviews, and maintains staffing requirements for production needs
  • Actively motivates and leads the team to meet and exceed goals


Other Functions:

  • Trains new members as required providing support and expertise
  • May require overtime, weekend work
  • May be responsible for logistics (e.g. shipping/ receiving, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head of Manufacturing & Operations or similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate direct reports in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement activities through strong team building and problem solving
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize day-to-day activities within functional area.
  • Proficient on Google suite, ERP software
  • Understanding of financial reporting and budgets to ensure production costs remain under budget
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Understanding of cosmetic legislation and industry knowledge
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Ability to Commute: Riverside, CA

 

Work Environment:

  • In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established company standards.
  • Position regularly requires standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds with assistance.  Additional demands may be required.
  • Position is in a warehouse facility with temperatures based on normal environmental conditions

 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $85,000 to $100,000 Compensation is commensurate with level of knowledge, education, skills, and experience applicable to the position.
  • Position is eligible for discretionary annual bonus.

  • Vacation: 2 weeks (1 week from Christmas to New Year’s and 1 additional week)
