Description You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the EMPLOYEE SERVICES BRANCH, BUSINESS OPERATIONS DIVISION, PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR AN ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (AO) POSITION.For the NT-03 pay band: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-02 (GS-5 through GS-8 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying analytical techniques to provide guidance, identify and resolve problems impacting personnel management operations.

For the NT-02 pay band: Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NT-01 (GS-01 through GS-04 equivalent) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing.x

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For the NT-03 pay band level:
  • Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR
  • Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree; OR
  • Successful completion of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled; OR
  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
For the NT-02 pay band level:
  • Successful completion of a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
  • A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
